LCD monitor doesn't show anything in "auto" mode and someother modes.....what is the problem with my Canon PowerShot A610?

In auto mode the LCD doesn't work but it takes picture...in video mode and some other mode LCD works fine.

That is a very interesting issue. It sounds like an internal computer issue because the LCD works fine in other modes. You should try to update your firmware here at Canon and see if that helps. If not I would say that it needs to be serviced. The best way to get that done is to contact Canon at the same link and see if they suggest sending it in. Hope you are under warranty.
