Can I use a 4G card with my canon a620?

I'm trying to decide what card to buy, so I would like to know what is the maximum card capacity and the highest speed card my canon a620 will accept.

Hi Sara,

Canon doesn't typically publish information regarding the top capacity for memory cards, especially since new cards come out all the time and they'd have to continually rewrite their manuals.

However, lucky for you there are plenty of user reports around in the internet. This message board thread, for example, indicates that a 4gb SD card works fine in the A620.

I would, however, suggest getting a couple of 2gb cards instead of a single 4gb card. Not only is there less of a question of compatibility with 2gb cards, but if you misplace one, you still have a backup. A 2gb card will hold several hundred shots at full resolution and the lowest compression, so you won't have to worry about running out of space.

Hope this helps!

will the 4gb SDHC card work with the SD600? I keep getting an error message saying Memory Card Error so I assume no 4gb cards will work. Is that true or just true for the SanDisk cards?

Make sure that write protect tab is off for the card.
Btw in general SDHC cards don't work where SD only cards are accepted as they are very different.
Hope it helps.

Basically this camera doesn't support SDHC memory cards. however, non SDHC high capecity cards are supported. I was in dilemma whether i should buy 4GB SDHC camera. i did little research and found that typically this camera doesn't support SDHC.
