A650 IS or A 590 IS? 4X v 6X zoom? Flip display?

I loved the vari-angle display on my recently deceased A75 (bought in 2005). How big a difference is 4X zoom vs 6X zoom. Does the A590 have a flip display?

The biggest concern about the A650 is the weight. I want it all...

The A590 does have the swivel LCD. Both are nice cams. With digital cameras, a zoom can make a difference, and yes, I think 6x is more worthwhile than 4x. But 4x is better than 3x, you know? It kind of depends on what and where you're going to be shooting in terms of how much zoom you want or need. You will notice a difference in the zoom.

Brenda: Are you sure A590 have flip display? I don't think so, i've cross checked at two forums and both of them says, it does not have flip display. The ones who have it are A650IS and S5IS. 6x zoom is better than 4x zoom for sure when you want to take something in far distance. However higher optical zoom means it will need better image stabilizer (using tripod is recommended for higher optical zoom) and also notice that when you use high optical zoom, the camera will capture lower light that can decrease your picture quality. Hope that helps.

Dany, you're right, I had the wrong model/ wrong photo. It does not have the swivel.
