Battery is depleted after taking about 10 photos

I am using Ni-MH 2100mah rechargable batteries. The first ones I thought it was the battery so returned it them the shop. It is still happening.
I have it on the lowest of all settings, and don't replay the pics to save batteries. I also don't use the camera to down load to the computer.

I had another Canon with that problem sent it back even and they said it was fine on a workbench. It took 500 photos, when I got it back it would some times shutdown the second you put new batteries in. I think some are lemons but you could try using some different brands of Nimh batteries. I get mine from Thomas distributing get the highest rated ones and their MH-C240W charger. I it is under warranty try to send it in or get a new one if this does not work. I swore I could never buy another canon product after the treatment I received over this but ended up buying another 2! This is definitely a problem in the A series with the AA batteries!!!
