Canon a620 right for a beginnner?

I am thinking of purchasing this camera as my first digital camera. Is this too much camera for a beginner? I also would have liked a larger LCB screen. (I wear bifocals and think a bigger screen would be more helpful) Is this true?

Hello Carol,
The Canon A620 is a great camera for most users, it's simple and feels a lot like older film cameras in style and design.

If you're looking for a decently sized LCD screen, you might want to check out the Canon A700. It's a lot like the A620, but with a 2.5-inch LCD instead of a 2.0-inch. It has 6 megapixels (the A620 has around 7), but that's not a significant difference.

Hope this helps. If you have any other questions, ask away.

Do I need to be concerned that the A700 doesn't have the image stabilization feature that is on the A620?.

Carol,

I don't think either of those models have Image Stabilization. The Canon SD700 does but that cost quite a bit more.
