can i use canon powershot A700 as camera?

i want to use canon powershot A700 as camera. pls tell me how i do.I have used cam4you remote but it doesn't support this model.Pls help me!!!

Can you be more specific about what you're trying to do here? Of course you can use the camera as a camera. But if you're trying to do some remote work, you'll be out of luck. There's always the timer setting.

oh, i'm sorry.I want to use my canon powershot A700 as WEBCAM! but software cam4you doesn't support my camera. I don't know how to do with my camera. Pls help me.Thank you so much!!!

Ah. That makes much more sense. Thanks for clarifying.

We get this question alot. The A520 (and I guess all Powershot cameras with RemoteShooting capability) can be used as a webcam. You only need a screen capture software, like Camtasia Recorder from the Camtasia Studio and Canon's own software, Camerawindow -> Remote shooting. You only need to start these programs, enable the Liveoutput option in the Camtasia Recorder, place the capture frame over the Remoteshooting window and start recording.
