Mine lasted three years
(B Winkel - 11/28/06)I guess I got lucky; my A70 gave me great pics for 3 years before suddenly giving out. One very hot day I took pics at a lake, then stashed the camera in my beach bag. The next day, black purple screen and black/purple images. Two weeks later took it to camera shop; they turned it on & it worked perfectly... for about a week, then reverted to same problem. Until now, I had no idea that this was a universal problem.
