about my A640

i brought my a640 to beach last weekend and it work fine. after i reached home in the evening, i heard noise whn i switch on the camera lens zoom in/out.

can it be repair ? i think have sand in it but i didnt drop it when at beach.

it can fix, please advise where & estimate how much?

Perhaps the camera is on auto-focus mode, and you are hearing the lens trying to focus? Check out the menus or the manual for auto-focus; maybe you would like that turned off.

If it is sand, you can try using a can of compressed air (it's sold at office stores to clean keyboards and whatnot). There's a small straw that you attach to the nozzle, which you can use to direct the air into the gap around the lens housing. This has been known to solve some other lens issues, so maybe it'd work here.

hi mates,

thanks for your reply.

if using the compressed air to blow off all the sands , will the sand just go deeper into the camera ?

since it already no cover by warranty... can just open and clean by myself?

where can i find repair manual ? difficult?
