We get this question alot. Not very many digital still cameras can actually be used as a webcam. This is mostly due to the lack of drivers for it. SONY does have a tutorial for using some of their models as a webcam, but my question is, with focusing issues, why would you?

Better to try getting your camcorder to perform that function.

So, in the end there may be a way, but it'll take some doing. And as always, your mileage may vary.

But for now, I don't think so. Better to try getting your camcorder to perform that function.

Or pick up the Creative's LiveCam Optica AF webcam.

You can, they have software available for canon powershot cameras. My girlfriend has the PS A80 and she downloaded Extra Webcam 2.0 from this website. http://www.softpedia.com/get/Internet/WebCam/ExtraWebcam.shtml it is a trial and it shows a few words up top, but you have a lot of space to see the person. It automaticly detects everything so its really handy.
