My canon A 80 started to sporadically work.

I can view a picture in the LCD diplay but when i take the picture it comes washed out also at other times my display will be black and i try to take a picture and my picture will come out as a black screen. Anyone know of an easy way to fix it?

You may want to try and reset the camera to it's factory default settings.

I'd also check [url=http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&tabact=SupportDetailTabAct&fcategoryid=221&modelid=9449]Canon's Website]/url] for firmware updates.

Know this post is old, but this may help others who have this problem. This sounds like a defective CCD imager. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check the following two links for more info.
