I purchased a 2g for the camera and it only took 62 picures, why not more?

The specs don't list anything above 256MB. I'm guessing that you can't use anything above 1GB and get it's full potential. You could check to see if there's a firmware update which will allow you to use 2GB cards as they are still in the SD range before going to high capacity cards. I'm pretty sure that would address it. But to date, I don't think there's one available.

But having to use more than one card isn't necessarily a bad thing. Allow me to make an pitch for using several cards, rather than one large one. Reason being, insurance. Any memory card can fail or become corrupted. And when you're on vacation the last thing you want is to lose the opportunity to take pictures until you can recover that media card with a software utility. If your card goes bad, swapping another one for it at that moment is of advantage so you can keep taking pics. Then, later when you're in front of your PC, you can use a utility like "F-Recovery" to get back your pictures and recover your card.
