The more I use it, the more I like it.

( - 10/27/04) With 5 megapixels the images (to me) look very much like film. I've had one image printed at a local lab (Epson 2200) at 13x19 borderless. Still looked like film! The downer for me is the time-lag between pressing the shutter release and the time of the actual exposure. Maybe I'll need to move up to a digital SLR to get better performance. I have learned to anticipate and in some cases have captured "the moment" with this camera. I also have the 420 Canon flash which makes a big difference over the built-in flash. When inside with low ceilings, I usually bounce the light and the images look very natural. So in 6 months of use, I am very much enamored with what this camera can do. I am still learning how to take what I already know about photography and adding what I need to know about digital imaging. Next purchase: that Canon dedicated flash cord to take the 420 out of the hot shoe. (Yes I'd like to add a 550 flash to my kit. And I am lusting over a new printer, such as the i9900. Would I want to step up to a higher end digital camera? Sure. But for now I am grateful to have this nifty imaging device.
