Two thumbs up for the Canon PowerShot G6, which offers "excellent" photo quality and very little image noise (unlike many of the 8-megapixel cameras). Enhancements to the design of previous G-series cameras include a smaller body, better hand grip, and a larger 2" LCD screen. Downsides of the G6 include a lens that starts at 35mm, making wide angle work difficult, and the fact that the LCD is too dark to use in low-light conditions. read original review
