Professional Reviews of the Canon Pro1

  • 3.5 out of 5
The Pro1 is Canon's new top-of-the-line PowerShot digital camera for 2004 (Steve's Digicams - 3/15/04)

A first look at the 8-megapixel Canon PowerShot Pro1. No conclusion yet, but this review does feature a comparison of photos taken by three different 8-megapixel cameras: the Pro1, the Sony F828, and the Nikon 8700. read original review

Overall, I'd rank the Pro1's photo quality as superior to the F828's (DC Resource - 3/4/04)

While its photo quality falls short of that offered by digital SLRs, the Canon PowerShot Pro1 can still turn out impressive images. Unfortunately, purple fringing and noise are visible in some pictures, and focusing can be difficult in low light. The Pro1 is a good option for photographers who don't want the bulk of an SLR, but still need high resolution. read original review
