Black LCD Screen while taking pictures

Love my camera, except the black LCD screen while taking pictures for the last year. After reading reviews on this website, I tried the TV mode setting it to 15, taking a picture and waiting 7 seconds, then opening the battery door. After two sequences my LCD screen is back up and running. Thank you to all that posted this sequence! I can't believe I have a fully functioning camera back.
