black screen repaired in Australia - for free !

I experienced black screen problems in November 2008 - a year after the warranty had expired. Handed the camera in for warranty repair through the local camera dealer (in Denmark). The answer was negative - warranty had expired. Searching the Internet I found this page - and others. Scrolling down the many Q & A, I got the impression that Canon Australia was pretty forthcoming on this issue. We happened to be going to Australia on a holiday trip over Christmas 2008, so I decided to take the camera along. Handed it in to Digicam Service in Adelaide, and referred to this homepage. After about a week they told me, that Canon Australia had decided to repair my camera without any charges ! (Lens - spare part No. CM1-2717-000 -was replaced. )
