Overexposure problem after the black screen

After the famed black screen problem and using the 15" trick in Tv mode, my camera now has a problem of overexposure. The pictures are completely washed out when taken in sunlight, however indoor pics are fine but they do have light horizontal lines running across them. I tried clicking outdoor pics in auto mode but it continues to be washed out, too much brightness. Please help !

Check the white balance. Reset the camera. This will restore it to factory default. But it sounds to me that one problem is stacking onto another. That means the clock is ticking before you just have to either a) repair it or 2) use the money and buy a different camera. And with the average camera repair about $180, #2 is probably the wiser course of action.

If there is a logical explanation to your experience, it can only be that the shutter is stuck

First the shutter was stuck in the closed position, so you only get black screen. Then after what you did, the shutter was stuck in the open position, so everything becomes white and over exposed.

I wouldn't try to open it up DIY style, rather it is better to let Canon service it if you can get it done for free like some lucky guys reported in the forum.
