What can I do if I dont have acces to the format memory card link?

I already bought a new memory card and it continues with the message that I have a memory card error and the problem is that don't have access to the link where I can format the memory card, it automatically skip that link...What can I do?

New memory cards are, by default, picture ready and need not be formatted.

If for any reason, you must format it and can't do it with the camera, use your computer and format it with the FAT16 format command.
