Serious blurring and pinkish tone; can't take photos anymore

It started with just the pink tone coming over both the view screen and any photos taken then worsened into a total serious blurring/misconfiguration of the image, to the point where the camera is unusable. At first this problem came and went but now it's there to stay.

Well, there's a few things going bad on your camera. First, a faulty CCD, which causes the symptoms your describing. Secondly, a memory card fault which causes corrupted images upon writing the image to the card.

Canon will repair both issues regardless of warranty status. Check out the links above for more information.

James - thank you. I will follow up with Canon. They repaired a memory card fault once already about a year and a half ago. I must have gotten a camera from a 'bad' batch. Best, Elaine
