PowerShot A150 Corrupted Data image retrieval

Is there a way to get my images back after the camera gives a "corrupted data" message followed by a "memory card error" message which earased all images? I use rechargeable batteries and the camera is only a year and a half old. What can I do and how can I prevent this from happening in the future?

Hi Heidie,
If the images were lost because of a corrupted card, it might be possible to get them back- but it's going to take some work. There are some products out there (like this one that are supposed to help. I'd do a google.com search for "memory card restoration" or something to that effect and see if you can find any good software downloads that look like they'd help you. You may have to pay for some of them and I'm not saying they all work, but it's worth looking into.

There are also many camera repair shops that specialize in retrieving lost photos.

The other thing is, have you been using the same memory card the whole time? If so I would try buying a new one, because it's more likely that the card went bad than it being a problem with the camera.
