What is the maximum CF card that can be used for this camera?

I have a canon S400. I was wondering what is the maximum compact flash card size that can be used in this camera. I was thinking of buying a 2 GB card. Will that work on this camera? I know this camera is an older model.

I have not consulted with pros at Canon...

but Silicon Mountain Memory indicates that the S400 can use a max of 1 GB memory.

San Disk Notes the max for the s400 as 8GB
