my powershot s410 is suddenly having focus problems.

Many of the photos I've taken recently are totally out of focus. Did I accidentally put the camera on the wrong settings? Or has the autofocus thing gone bad?

I'm having focus issues. All pictures are out of focus. This is the second one of these cameras that I've bought.

Any thoughts that don't involve giving money to Canon are appreciated.

Sounds like the Canon s410 has focus issues. Has anyone had their camera looked at/repaired? What is the problem?

When I first posted here ... I knew not what I think I know now.

I have since posted this page with respect to Canon Digital Cameras ... and the possible Blurry Vison of some LCD screens, possible loosing of pictures, the seemingly very possible, (and mysterious), E18 error, and more.

For instance ... Canon seemingly released the "product advisory" (recall) for some models in April of 2005, ... then waited until Nov. 1 2006 to post the same recall in the U.S., ... then posted the same recall in Canada in late Nov. of 2006. How many cameras do you think Canon fixed, (knowing the problems were manufacturing errors), in the months between the Product Advisory in Asia and the Product Advisory in the U.S. ???

IF they fixed 1,000,000 cameras, at an estimated cost of $375 U.S. ... that would be $375,000,000 U.S. they made fixing their own mistake.

I will not buy Canon ever again ... http://www.canonsucks.com ... is my new website.

My brother is having trendous luck with his Olympus. I also have many friends reporting great looking pictures with Kodaks.

My family all bought Sony cameras, ... but many of the Sony's were seemingly assembled in the same factory as the Canons with the same apparent faulty LCD connections. I opened my Cnaon Camera and found the LCD screen to be labeled SONY behind the casing.

If buying Sony, (or Nikon), look hard for a Product Service Advisory on the specific camera you intend to purchase. It is possible that many new cameras, sitting on the shelves of many different camera stores, may in fact have already been recalled. It would be a shame to have not done your research and to have bought a dud just because you didn't look up the product.

I have 2 brand new Sony Digital DVD cameras. So far so good. One has a 60 gig hard-drive. The other records to a mini-DVD. The restriction of the mini-DVD is cost vrs. recording time. Our local stores only carry non-re-writable discs and they only record roughly 30 mins each. Not that the discs are overly expensive, but the hard drive is completely cost effective on an ongoing basis beyond the point of sale. The discs require me to periodically move my lazy butt to a store, find the discs, drag them up to the counter, punch in OK/CHQ/PIN, and get my butt back to my camera. The Hard Drive means picking the camera up and filming. Nobody should make a digital video camera that takes stills without including a flash. The night vision does not work all that great with movement and the still photos look like an acid flash back.

Awapik,

It should be noted, however, that Canon is being extremely generous compared to some of its competitors in the scale of this recall, and the fact that they're paying for postage and all associated costs. While, yes, they released products with issues, at least they're going the distance to fix those issues.

The LCD monitor is not working on my canon s410 power shot- showing blurry lines across and blocks out the image. Wolf camera told me that the s410 had been recalled. I can't find the info on your web site. Please advise.
