Best choice for its size & features
( - 7/21/05)I bought the S70 for its manual/automated features, resolution, and small size, and it hasn't disappointed me. I've used older digital cameras up to 5 Megapixals, and the jump from 5 to 7 megapixals is worth the extra cost if you intend to print 8x10 or larger. Its feature set for a camera so compact is amazing, far more than anyone will need. I've been using it for six months, and it is always with me, except for the time I lost it. I bought another, and noted a slight improvement in the detent holding the cover open. The lost camera was too easily shut down by the slightest accidental pressure closing the cover. The new one requires much more deliberate effort to move the cover, so no more lost picture opportunities. I have two other slight gripes: a tendancy to over expose; so I manually set the exposure at -1/3. A second gripe is that the color intensity is less than other Canon digital cameras I've seen. But again, there is an on-camera "Vivid" setting which I leave on. All-in-all, I don't see a better combination of quality, features, and pocketable size on the market. I would buy another if I lost it again.
