my camera works fine but then when it comes time to take the picture it doesn't take it

its a cannon sd100. and everything is working good. its almost new.

The SD100 in general has a good track record (it is over 3 years old!). Can you be more specific? When you press the shutter, you get no response - but everything else works OK (i.e., the camera powers on fine, LCD displays image, etc.)?

Perhaps hold down the shutter a bit longer?
