Hi,
This definitely sounds like a problem with your camera's CCD (imaging sensor). Since you can view pictures on your card and you can still take shots (they just come out black), you know it's not a problem with the LCD. You're in luck, however. Canon has issued a service advisory indicating that your problem is a known defect with the SD100, and they will repair it free of charge (you don't even have to pay shipping!). Check out the service advisory and then request a repair online.
