Great ultracompact but needs LCD protection

( - 4/27/06)

I've had this camera for 4 months now and it's been with me virtually everywhere, to the office, mall, zoo, park, etc.

Takes great photos and is a real pleasure to use. Novice, casual and advanced photographers will definitely be happy with this portable little gem.

One very important note though. The SD400's 2-inch LCD screen is unprotected (think: laptop screen) so to ensure that it doesn't crack as has been frequently reported, I would strongly advise owners to get a "da Oly" protector from da Products. It's a 2 millimeter perspex(?) screen that provides the ultimate in shock protection to an otherwise fragile screen.

Flexible scratch protectors like those used on PDAs won't do for the SD400. Something tough and rigid like the da Oly is needed.

Fits perfectly on mine. Wouldn't carry it anywhere without it.
