My Power Shot SD 400 won't turn on

My camera fell a short distance onto carpet, while off, and now it will not turn on. The battery is charged. Is there any hope if it being fixed rather than having to be replaced?

Sure, there's always hope. The question is how much will it cost? You can get a repair estimate, but the rule of thumb is that if it costs north of 50% what you paid for it to repair, you're better off using that money to buy a new one.

I had the same thing happen to mine. Did you end up finding out what was wrong with the dumb thing? Did you have to have it repaired. My camera fell no more than two feet, also onto carpet. This is ridiculous.

Same here. Drop and now won't turn on. Can someone suggest the fix? I'd take it apart if I had any idea what to fix or what came loose.
