Canon Powershot SD450 is not compatible with SDHC cards.

You may get a second opinion by checking with Sandisk at this site

Bukit is correct; the SD450 was released as 'tested with cards up to 2GB', but SDHC picks up at 4GB. So the largest card it is designed to support is a 2GB SD.

I have been running a transcend SD 4 gig 150x card in my Canon SD450 for several years, so brenda is incorrect. The Transcend card does not say SDHC but it is 4Gig and works just fine.

I just popped in a sdhc 4 gig card in my sd450 and it does not work. The camera won't even give "format" as an option. Hopefully I can take it back. Definitely does NOT work.

Please note the SD450 does not take SDHC cards but the Transcend 150x 4 GB card is NOT SDHC. Be sure you get THAT card and assure it does not say SDHC. I bought second one recently and it also works just fine.

Kurdt you say you bought a sdhc 4 gig card, they do not work. "The Transcend card does not say SDHC but it is 4Gig and works just fine."

Yep. I bought a Transcend SDHC 8GB for my SD450, not even thinking of incompatibility. Did not know they were even different formats. "Memory Card Error." As noted above you can't even format SDHC on the 450, that function is grayed out.

So, I have a nice, $45 8GB SDHC card, all dressed up and no place to go.

Yup I should have checked here, but didn't think the hc would make a difference so I too have 2 cards I can't use. Any way to format from the computer then use in the camera?

The Transcend 4GB non-SDHC card does indeed work. I got the 133x version of it. When I put it in my camera it said "Memory Card Error", but I went to the format menu in my camera and formatted it, after which it worked, giving 3.7gb of space.
