Camera wont turn on nor computer recognize it through a USB cord?? Please help!!

I have Canon powershot SD450 and it has worked great. I recently uploaded my pictures to my computer like I always do but ever since it wont turn on, I have replaced the batteries and still nothing. I try to plug it to my computer using my USB cord and it doesnt recognize it, although it used to. Ive tried downloading the cd the camera came with but that didnt help. It was working just fine before this happened..what could be wrong?

Not sure, but maybe the USB port just went bad on the camera. I would just go buy a card reader. They're about ten bucks at Walmart or Target or places like that, and they are devices with USB plugs. You just take the card out of the camera, put it into the card reader, and plug that into the computer instead of using your camera. Saves wear and tear on the camera, and battery life, too.
