hang in there macro does work
( - 2/8/06)Love this camera, did a test in the store with 3-4 other brand names. The Macro needs a little experiment and is sensitive with the right distance and use of zoom but it does work well, as good as the prev Ricoh Caplio, experiment a little and you can get the words "swiss" to come out if say you photo graph a high quality watch face.
My wife really likes its fucntionality and ease of use, especially the fast boot and "motor" drive fucntion
