Great Camera but LCD prevents it getting 5 stars
(Peter Morris - 10/16/06)I bought an Ixus 700 and it took great pictures for nearly 12 months before I dropped it onto a ceramic tile floor and smashed the LCD screen. I was gutted and read about loads of others with similar pain. I decided to fix it myself and a friend in New Jersey was coming over so he got hold of a replacement screen.I also saw a deal on the Dell website for an SD500 for $256 so I got that as well (in case I didn't fix the screen). I fitted the LCD (very carefully) and the camera worked great so I had two cameras —for a week and then it cracked in my pocket. I have since ordered another screen (they only cost $43 shipped in USA) from Canon in New Jersey (tel 001 732 521 7230 from UK). Hopefully those of you with a broken screen will give it a go. This website is really useful

Hopefully the new screen will arrive in the next few days and I will be back to two cameras again. I still think it takes a great picture and it is really fast.
