The warranty likely won't cover this, since it will count as a problem resulting from use. The warranty will only cover problems that happen due to camera faults, etc. But I would still give Canon customer service a call. They have always been helpful to me, and they can probably give you a quote on how much it would cost to repair it. Do beware though, that it may very well cost more to fix than it would to just purchase a new camera. Good luck.
