I took my Canon out of its leather case at the LCD seems to have leaked/cracked! What do I do about it?

I have a Canon SD 550 and I baby it, but today I took it out of my purse, and then out of its leather case made for it, and the screen when I turned it on was black with this purple line down the middle and some colorful spots...I didnt do anything to it, and now its not working, the camera still takes pictures, the LCD just isnt right.

Your camera comes with a limited 1 year warranty, but you may need to have sent in your warranty card when you purchased the camera. Either way, you can request a repair online with Canon.

The exact same thing happened to me this weekend to my SD450. I called Canon and they said to ship it to them and they would either fix it for free or a fee. They didn't know exactly how much until they see, but they estimated between $99 and $119. Let me know if you come up with any better solutions or what you find out. I will keep you updated as well.
