Little Camera Packs a Punch!
(TomD - 12/24/06)This is a great camera in a tiny package. Iâm not a new-comer to digital cameras, but I am to ultra-compacts. After using a CANON POWER SHOT A80 for about 3 years I was sold on Canon. By the way, I was in the market for a new digicam after dropping and breaking the A80 while vacationing in Denver.
I was intrigued with CANONâS ELPH, but I almost made a mistake and bought a PENTAX OPTIO T10. I owned it for 14 days and returned it then snatched up the CANON ELPH SD600. I liked the T10 size and its touch screen, but it had a terrible flash. Picture quality indoors was real poor and the battery sucked down power like a tail-gater chugging beers.
The ELPH SD600 is an excellent camera. The picture quality is outstanding both indoors and out. I really like the small size. I handle PR for a college and never know when I need a camera. I hate lunging a big (or even medium size digicam) around. Now, each morning I put the ELPH in a small case and slip it on one side of my belt. Itâs always ready.
The one thing that most (non-SLR) digicam users complain about is shutter lag. This little jewel lets you capture the shot in less than .1 second and can come back and record a second shot in about two-tenths of a second- rather than the .8 seconds that many digital cameras average.
