Will Canon ixy 800 IS SDHC Compatible?

I would like to know if I can buy the SDHC for my ixy Canon 800 IS
camera?

Mimi,

This camera does not support SDHC technology. You'll have to stick to the regular SD cards.

According to the SD800IS user's guide, this camera IS SDHC compatible. Please check your source of information.

I JUST BOUGHT AN 8GB SDHC CARD FOR THIS CAMERA AND IT DOES NOT WORK - IT ACTUALLY SHUTS THE CAMERA DOW AND PRODUCES AN E31 ERROR AS WELL AS CARD ERROR MESSAGES?

My SD800IS is using a 16GB Kingston SDHC card with no issues. However, my brother's SD700IS is showing a memory card error, and format is not available in the menu. But according to some sites I've read, the SD700IS is compatible with SDHC cards. Very confusing.

according to canon's site the sdhc will NOT work.

in usa IXY800 is SD700IS = not support SDHC
in usa SD800IS is IXY850IS = support SDHC
