Which camera is slim, easy 2use, has gr8 pic quality and zoom for far away images and excellent overall, any make for 300 pounds?. Recommendations?

Im going on holiday and want a digital compact camera to take pics of far away images i.e. mountains, sunsets, etc. I have a budget of 300 pounds and want to take movies with sound also. The camera must be easy to use and transfer images, slim in style. Any other advanced tech specs would be good also? Im not fussy on make. I just want good value for money and a top quality camera. The canon IXUS 85 / SD770 has been recommended but do any other people recommend others? Also, looking into an extended warranty? Anyobdy know of good shops to buy from cheaply? Many Thanks

If you want a very slim camera with a great picture take a look at the Nikon S60, and similar models within that same series. The cool thing is the lenses are actually stacked instead of extending, so the camera will always stay slim, as opposed to having an extending lens. The photo quality out of that little camera is phenomenal, and I think it actually stays under your price range (though I'm not sure how much it sells for in the UK). As for an extended warranty, most of the retail stores, and some online sites offer various extended warranties, though usually these aren't really worth the money, because cameras tend not to break unless you drop them (but the Nikon S60 is especially good with ware and tear).
