Can a digi cam double up as a web camera for my video chats when connected to pc?

Hi,
I want to buy a good digital camera(around 8 to 10 mega pixels, priced around 10,000 INR) to carry around and also am in need of a decent web camera for video chatting over internet using apps like skype n gtalk. Can both these needs be met by the same camera? if so (or even if not possible) which are the recommended options?

No. Most point and shoot cameras will time out after awhile and it doesn't have an auto focus which will follow you. Still cameras also don't usually have the drivers necessary to run as a webcam (although some Sony's can). Your best bet is to use a camcorder for it.
