Canon Power Shot SD800 IS Digital ELPH
(Shela Nielsen - 5/29/07)Ok we have had this camera about a week. It seems to be all we had hoped for probably more. We did get white spots on a couple of pictures but I really believe this is operator error....dust reflecting in the light. I changed what I was doing and everything was cool. In all honesty we have not had much time to spend taking pictures but we did a small photo shoot very quickly of some puppies. We own a Canon Digital Rebel as well. Cliff took our photo shoot with his Rebel but on the first pup he took three additional quick snapshots of the same pup. I posted them on-line for comparison if you wish to look. http://www.weims4sale.homestead.com/OwyheeStarWeims/Topper/TopperandDurangoMay2007/Camera_PuppyPage.html I think the quality is amazing. Keep in mind this was a quick photo shoot and there are many things we can do to improve on the picture quality. We used the Pet/Child setting and the only thing we did was crop the picture. So what you see in both sets of photos was what we shot quickly. This is important for us because we take a lot of quick photos. The ease of operation, the quality of the picture, and the—what should I say????? The size of the camera itself means I can keep it handy and use it in an instant is outstanding. I also am impressed that it takes the photos so quickly. Previously I had a Cannon Coolpics L3 and the outside pictures were quick but our inside pictures were good but the shutter speed was so slow that we lost many opportunities. The Canon SD800 IS is much quicker. I am anxious to try continuous shoot and other features of this wonderful camera. I am happy to recommend this camera.
