what is the battery life like with the included battery?

i was told that the life is only 20 min from a very rude customer service person at digitalnerds.com. Is that true.
Note:
please do not support digitalnerds.com, they used words like "tight a$$", proceded to call me an idiot, and hung up on me.

I own an SD800 and I'm here to tell you the battery life is the very least of your concerns. For one, that type battery doesn't drain while not in use amd for two, when it does die, it will be long after you've taken gobs and gobs of pictures and completely forgotten you even have a battery.

Whoever said 20 minutes needs to find another vocation... like washin' dishes.

Digitalnerds.com are simply crooked people. They told me that I would not be able to take ANY pictures unless I purhased a memory card from them... when I said I already had one that was compatible, they told me that this is a new camera, with new technology and that it was not compatible with memory cards purchased only recently... then the real shock was that despite the website NEVER suggesting the camera was refurbed, they suggested it was... think about this! Contradictory, isn't it? When I said I didn't want a refurbed camera, they said they'd change it to a NEW one for $100 more. I said NO just before they hung up on me. Oh! They also told me the battery would only last 20 minutes.

They are really nerds. Fortunately, they could not scam me because the cam I ordered from them was out of stock. They did not have the decency to inform me that they cancelled my order, and hung up on me 3 times when I called them.

Has anyone else been called a f---ing looser by the digitalnerds? The nerds also threatened to ruin my credit standing by using the credit card info given to them at the time of my order. Nice

Every one of you that has a bad experience with this company needs to report them to the Better Business Bureau and Attorney General of the respective state. I can only suggest, because until now I've never heard of the company.

P.S. I've already taken 100 pictures after charging this battery, and been playing around with the features (just bought it), and it hasn't mention anything about the battery even being low. I'm guessing 300 shots on a battery.

Ordered camcorder online from digitalnerds. Received email to call them back about order. Called back and was told battery only lasts 20 minutes and they suggested an additional battery for $120 more. Told rude individual 20 minute battery was fine and then over the next 2 minutes was called an idiot at least 5 times before they aggreed to cancell my order. Do not buy from them

I just had a very similar trade with SuperDeals and then DigitalNerds. The very same thing happened to me. They did not say anything about the canon SD900 being a referb and wanted to sell me one for 81.00 more. They wanted to sell me cards and batteries for way more than the going price. They went from 129.00 for a 512mb card to a 1g for the same money. When they could not sell me more or a higher priced camera, they said the deal was canceled and hung up. How rude. These kind of internet stores need to be shut down.

Well, I just ran through my battery. They weren't kidding about the short notice! Once the low-battery indicator was on, within a few pictures, my camera was dead, lol.

It took about 200 pictures, with LCD screen on at all times, flash on over half the time, and using the camera to learn its features without taking pictures, with the LCD still running.

Not bad :)

I also was duped by these horrible scammers. I had the same run-down - was told it only had a 20 minute battery and was berated to try and get me to buy their extras saying that they would charge me if I canceled my order. In the end when I ordered the camera only, they emailed saying it was out of stock. I have reported them to the BBB and am writing to every website I can find to tell people how they do business. They are actually Starlight Cameras run out of new york and also run Digitalsuperdeals.com

DigitalNerds also told me that it was a refurb (they call you after you place an order online) and said I should have seen the "RB" on the site (no such thing). Of course they tried to upsell me on everything and I had to say NO like 8 times before they would stop talking. Also lied about the battery etc. etc. I am reporting them to the BBB. Please tell your friends who are camera shopping not to support their website and their bait and switch tactics!!!!

I ordered a canon digital camera from digital nerds and they insisted on sellilng me a charger, some batteries, and some SD memory cards -which I was dumb enough to agree to buying - All at exhorbitant inflated prices. So when I got off the phone I started checking out price comparisons and soon learned that I'd been ripped off. I called back the damn nerds and cancelled my order - at which time the owner got on the phone and used the F word several times. Then he told me if I didn't pay a 20% restocking fee he'd F-up my credit and post my name all over the internet. This is a rip off joint, intent on luring you in with bait and switch tactics that make you pay. Watch out - Better yet - don't even bother to contact these clowns.

Same as everyone else... this weekend I ordered camera, within minutes rec'd phone call pressuring me to buy an extra battery. He came down on the price several times and when I con't to tell him no, he called me "stupid" and hung up on me!! I called back cust serv (same guy answered) He admitted to hanging up on me because he does not sell his products to "people without brains" and told me he had cancelled my order. When I threatened to call the BBB he said "and tell them what, that you are dumb?" and hung up on me again. I quickly went into my account and changed my credit card info but I don't know if he still has it. When I tried to log into my account tonight, it would not let me...said my account was blocked. Has anyone had a problem with credit card charges? This guy is HORRIBLE!!! The cust serv # is 1-800-958-0054.. The # on my caller ID is (718)943-3750. Does anyone have any more info on this creep? This man has to be stopped!!!!!!!!!!!

So has anybody had any unauthorized charges to their credit card after ordering from them? I ordered a camera today, but got an email that the order was cancelled after not buying their upgrades. Now I'm worried that they're gonna charge up a storm on my credit card, but I don't really wanna cancel it either.

I have taken lots of pictures (200-300) with this battery on medium resolution and with the LCD screen on and had no problem. I changed the battery after that with my back up and just kept shooting. The battery life is really pretty good. You just have to keep watch on how many pictures and movies you take before it gets really weak. It's a good to have a spare battery with you. I always carry a spare battery so I won't miss anything. :)

I called D-Nerds to order a Canon sd800 IS because their website indicated "in stock." Whoever answered the phone was rude when he said they were out of stock! I decided I by one from another dealer, no matter the price, even if the Nerd people had one after how I was treated.

I tried to buy a camera from them on 10-5-07 and had a horrible experience. Had to call and confirm my order and then they tried to upsell me and when I refused I received an email saying that the camera was out of stock and that they canceled my order. I have found numerous other stories about Digital Nerds. All exactly the same as mine. They not only will try to upsell you but they will also send you refurbished items that they claim are new.. DONT EVER BUY FROM THESE SCAM ARTISTS... I went so far as to cancel the credit card that I used to buy the camera. I am so afraid that they will try to sell my information. This has made me very leary of buying anything online in the future.

To Space Cadet

When I order on-line I use what amounts to a one time use credit card number. With MBNA (now Bank of America) it is called "Shop Safe". If you get a card through them (other companies my have the same thing) you go to their web site and generate a new number from your account with a maximum amount and an expiration date of your choice.
