completely confused between nikon L5 and the canon SD800...help please. Which would be a better investment?

Ive heard by professional photographers that nikon is a better camera but by sales people that canon is better.

Judy, Nikon and Canon are both top level brands. So instead of comparing the brands I would rather focus to technical specifications. Talking about those 2 particular models we can see that the Canon has few advantages: wide angle lens, higher ISO speed and optical viewfinder. Therefore I recommend the SD800. But it costs more too...

For the extra $80, the SD800IS is easily the way to go. Don't hesitate on this camera if you're interested in picking one up :)
