How come the reviews on the SD880 are getting worse and worse while the SD990 ones are still perfect?

It's kind of misleading me, since the SD880 is apparently #1 most popular on this site, yet its getting worse reviews (880 haters maybe? lol) and is not even ranked at least 5th in any category, while the SD990 is 2nd or 1st in every category and has mostly 5 star and some 4 star reviews. Why is this? And I also found the SD990 for $235.00, is this a trustworthy site?

First, I would factor out the highs and lows of all reviews to eliminate the gadflys and the haters. Then, you'd have a more accurate and balanced set of realistic reviews. But in the end, the SD990 has a larger chip in it which lessens the noise in low light situations.

The site you listed will try to sell you very expensive add-ons. If you decline the add ons purchase they will either be "out of stock" or sell you a "import" model which will have no Canon USA warranty. Either way, you're better off buying from a better dealer. J&R Music/computer has recently had the best prices and they are an excellent dealer and full USA models and warranty. They carry both the SD880 and the SD990.

The SD990 is getting more and more good reviews as the price comes down and more people try out it's feature set and image quality. The SD880 is a great camera in the Elph lineup, but the SD990 takes it a step further by adding some manual controls and a larger sensor and more detailed photos in the end. It is the best one for making large enlargements, even poster size with great detail and clarity. For smaller (8x10 and under) sizes the SD880 works fine. It does have a bit more noise in low light and loses a few more details (like fine hair and grass) in its shots over the SD990, but still performs better than most other pocket cameras out there in the 9-12MP range.

Oh okay, I'm going to the Inaugural Celebrations next week (I'm actually going to be marching in the parade with my high school marching band!) And I have the SD880, I got it from Best Buy for $250 because my parents don't like me buying stuff online but I didn't want to return it with all the re-stocking fees and stuff, so I guess I'm going to use that for the Inaugural, and then get the SD990 sometime in probably a month and give the SD880 to my mom.
