canon powershot sd 950 &cannon ixy 2000 the same?

Are the canon powershot sd950 is and the canon ixy2000 the same camera? why two names?

The "ixy" version is sold outside of the United States. The Canon SD950 is sold in the US. I hope this helps.

I received the IXY Digital 2000 IS but the instructions are in Japanese...is it possible to change to the English language and if so...how?

I am looking at buying an IXY 2000. Is it the EXACT same camera or are there differences? Are the controls and menus on the camera itself in english or japanese?

These are the exact same camera. I can not speak to the instruction language. It would really depend on where the camera is marketed for. If you do wind up with instructions in Japanese, you can reference the two links above for instructions in English.

According to Japanese manufacturing philosophy the best is made for local Market. Between two of these I would go with IXY 2000.

well u see powershot sd 950 in the us ,ixy2000 in japan and ixus 960 in europe and the middle east are all the same they differ in the software and by this i mean the languages of course they are all made in japan
