Some reviews tells that the image quality is poor. Unable to decide whether to go for this or not. Pl advice.

I want a canon camera with 10 MP + and decent optical zoom and easy to use features. If this a not the camera then pl advice which one I should go with. budget is $300.

While it does have the DIGIC IV processor, that doesn't mean that stuffing the CCD with more MP is a good thing. In fact, it's a myth that more MP is better. It is, ONLY IF the chip size is increased to boot. If not, you end up with a camera less sensitive to light, not more. And that leads to more noise in low light and at higher ISO.

The DIGIC IV does compensate for some of that. But if you're thinking more MP is better, you're in for a disappointment.

Having said that, I'd balance reviews with user reviews, factoring out the glowing and ultra negative offerings. But Canon's SD line is a solid line.
