Re the powershot sx1000. Can I separate photos from videos before uploading?

Just got back from a tour of Australia, NZ and Fiji. Filled up four memory cards with photos and recording. Don't want to upload the video/recordings to my laptop - would rather download the pics to a DVD and the recording to separate DVD. Is this possible? And if so how do I do it. Thanks

They should be in a separate folder. But if not, it's relatively simple to plug the cards into the computer using a USB card reader. The Computer will read the card as a drive. Just organize by type, highlight all the pics and drag them to your desk top image folder. Do the same for the video clips, dragging to a video folder. Then burn away as you want.

Thanks James - just uploaded the 4 memory cards to Corel. It was easy to identify the video clips. I will burn the videos next. Thanks for your help.
