Stop & Shop Digital (stopandshopdigital.com) is the latest bait and switch website to appear on fake price comparison site everyprice.com. They are operated by either soniccameras or www.closeoutgenius.com (or both), both of which are notorious bait and switch operations.

I attempted to order a Canon Powershot SX10IS a week before Easter from them. When I ordered nothing else, they said that they were out of stock, or on back order or anything.[/[]

I ordered a Nikon 18mm-200mm Vr lens , which is priced at $349.00 on there web site . I ordered the lens and within 1 minute they actually called me to tell me that they needed part of my credit card information since I wasn`t able to input it on there web site . Then the guy tried to upsell me a Sigma lens for $999.99 . he said it was a better lens . He said that it was on sale for $999.99 , and that it was 3.5 - 3.6 optical stabilizer SLD DC Aspherical autofocus lens . He said this is what I needed instead of the Nikon lens . I told him that I was on a budget and that I wanted to stay with the Nikon lens . after about 15 minutes of up sell talking and then he said wait a minute let me talk to my boss .
He came back on the phone and lowered the price of the sigma lens to $599 .99 . I said I still didn`t have the extra money and that I wanted to stay within my budget , he then double checked with his boss again to only lower the sigma lens to $399 . I said let me call you back , so he gave his extension # 105 . I looked on Ebay and the same lens was selling for $323 with free shipping .
stay clear away from these con artists . I just received an email today letting me know that there shipping department got my order , but by the time they got it they were out of the nIkon lens and that if I wanted to cancel my order that I could other wise it would be 8-12 weeks for the lens to come back in .

I just tried to buy Canon EOs T1i with 2 lens - advertised at $509. The price jumped to $841 because of "upgrades". At no time did they get my authorisation to complete the purchase. I started by talking to "Ben" who became increasingly aggressive and abusive, eventually he put me on to "Clifford" - his boss, who after a couple of minutes also became very threatening. He was started saying we may put this deal through today...or next week (very unsettling). When it became clear to this wanker that authorisation wasnt coming his way, he started saying thing like "we have your address," and "we may pay you a visit."

I immediately contacted my bank and they assured me that they would cancel any attempts by these shitbags to get my money! Be careful out there!

OMG. I called them today so i cud place an order for a couple of items and I ended up speaking to a guy an extension 105 too! He tried to sell me some generic versions of a rechargeable battery even though i wanted the Nkon because he said that they are better...and he also tried to sell me some high end version memory cards even though I specifically told him i was looking for the Sandisk Ultra 2 8gb....Im so glad i didnt go ahead with the order. My largest purchase was going to be for the Nikon sb900 which seems to be between 480-500 everywhere and they have it advertised for 359$ i just had a bad feeling about it- you know what they say, when its too good to be true, it must be. I have to admit all their low prices and free stuff and free upgrades really got my attention. they told me id get a 16gb when i ordered an 8gb, an extra battery when i ordered one....etc etc

Basically a boiler room for retail...a bunch of young aggressive a holes who take the calls and just play games with the customers and threaten the weak. The price seems so good it is easy to fall for and for most people like me you are used to having good experiences with online shopping so don't believe the price and don't enter you card # if so, cancel it as soon as possible.

I just ordered the Canon T1i the other day, and they called me today to tell me that it is actually the Japanese Model (Kiss X3), and that I won't be able to read the screen or anything (all in Japanese), so I shouldn't order it. But since I ordered the "Gold" package for $320.00 (now $669 on their site) and it included:

•Canon EOS Rebel T1i /500D/ Kiss X3, 15.1 Megapixel, SLR Digital Camera (Body Only)
•Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 DG IS Autofocus Lens for Select Digital SLR Cameras.
•Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS Autofocus Lens
•2GB (SD) Memory Card
•Secure Digital Card Reader
•Deluxe Water Resistant Fully Padded Medium Camera Bag.
•Full Size 50 inch Deluxe Aluminum Light Wight Digital Camera & Camcorder Tripod
•Lens Cleaning Kit
•LCD Screen Protectors

I told them to send it anyways because just the lens and accessories are more expensive then $320 at Amazon.

After I told them I still wanted it, they basically told me that I was dumb (never said the work dumb) and that all I was going to do was get it and return it, so I should just cancel my order. I told them to send it anyways and that I wouldn't return it unless it was broken. Then they told me that it ships from their warehouse is Japan so it will take 4-8 wks, and then he hung up on me. Whenever (if ever) everything shows up, I will add a new comment to let everyone know what the final out come was.
