Cannon SX110 IS or Cannon SD1100 IS for a first time digital buyer.

Hi all, I am looking for a bit of advice. I am a first time digital buyer (late to the band wagon) and I have read excellent reviews of both the SX110 and the SD1100. I would normally just go with the smaller one and work my way up, but I am traveling to Europe this fall and want one that will work well for me in the pubs as well as outside with the architecture I will be photographing. As I said, I am leaving in the fall, so I have plenty of time to play around with the camera...any advice?

Thank you for your input Steve, those are beautiful shots. Can you tell me WHY you like the Panasonic? I haven't heard as many good reviews on it as I have the Canons, would like to hear more.
