What will be the approx price and release date ??

I would say approximately $500, maybe a bit more like $600, because of the advanced sensor. As far as the release date, I think the earliest you'll probably see it is maybe December, just in time for the holiday season. Since there is not one posted, its probably not going to be in the next 2 months.

i received reliable information from canon that it is priced around $750
The release date is somewhere near the second week of October 2008

Canon USA is not saying anything about the SX1 IS being sold in the U.S. They don't have it shown on their website, while the SX10 IS is featured. There is a likelyhood that the CMOS it uses is in short supply and it may not be available in large numbers anywhere for some time. I wouldn't count on buying one in any country before next Winter.

I called Canon and they said around April 19 with a $600 price tag.
