RAW Mode? LCD Display?

I noticed that the SX 10 IS will have a larger LCD display over the SX10 IS. Are there any other differences -ie. Raw mode etc.

It's a 0.3" difference... hardly noticeable. There's actually tons of difference between the two cameras. This site lists all of the differences side by side (scroll to the bottom). If the box is split, then there's a difference in that feature. If not, the features are the same. http://www.dpreview.com/news/0809/08091703canon_sx1is_sx10is.asp

The SX1 is only available in Europe to my knowledge, its still possible to get, but for now we'll just have to wait to get it in North America. There isn't much information about dates or anything.

Aditya,
I contacted Canon USA headquarters snd found out that unfortunately the SX1 IS will not made be available in the US in the forseable future. Because of production limitations this camera will not be sold here until later in 2009 if at all!

Canon stated that a firmware update for shooting RAW was/will be available for older SX1's and will come on new SX1's in the US once available in April 09. Not sure about the SX10 though.

U c camera makers r simply smiling and making billions due to the pointless madness of consumers. Just get an inexpensive PowerShot SX110 IS and c how much potentials it offers - a hobbyist will need at least 6 months to master them. But once u have; u just keep shooting pro quality pictures more often than not.

What is this function RAW? I read a professional reviewers comment which, said it would be nice and should have had RAW and HD. I assume HD is High Def. but don't know what RAW is.

RAW mode is an uncompressed fileformat that delivers the best digital quality. Jpeg is a compression format that reduces the quality of the image the camera actually records. RAW is very usefull in high-res and low light photos. Image editing is also an advantage when shooting in RAW format, as it is the closest thing to "the real picture" the camera can get.

RAW files are circa 20-30 Mb, ie. resolution varies.
