QUESTION! Should I count on the SX1 to deliver good HD video? I want to sell my JVC Everio 720x 480 to help fund an SX1. Smart move?

I would go with an SX10 but I thought I would get good photo and also HD with this one camera so I want to sell my JVC Everio Standard Def camera to pay the difference between SX10 and SX1. But given that SX1 is primarily a photo camera, can I count on the video being better than my dedicated SD camcorder? What do you guys think?

Thanks!

Well even though you'll get HiDef video, you won't get the equivalent audio to go with it. It'll be "tinny" and poorly recorded. Video is really a marketing feature to make customers think they're getting more value from their camera (much like digital zoom). It may be find for those moments when you don't have your camcorder with you, but I certainly wouldn't replace it with one.

the SX1 isn't designed to be a dedicated hi def camcorder, it's a still camera that takes really good video. If you already have the camcorder, I'd keep it.
