Filters for the SX1 IS??

I understand tht there is an after-market filter set with bayonet mount for SX10 IS & SX1 IS. Anyone know where I might get it?

I'm of the opinion that filters are fast becoming a thing of the past as anything you can do with a filter, you can do in software. But it has the added benefit of more control, better options, and the ability to "undo" if you don't like the outcome. Then you can try something else.

Software is capable of many things but it can't protect the camera
lens or substitute for a polarizing filter to reduce glare off a water surface. I continue to ask whether a filter is available for Canon SX1 IS or SX 10 IS.

Thanks for this. I also have info that a 52 mm filter can be put directly on to the lens so can use hood & cover. Anyone hear of this??

THe problem is that the front of the lens has a very small thread and it's not really designed for filters, per se. But I do agree that a 1A skylight is the best insurance policy against impact damage on the lens element.

Thanks much. This is what I was looking for. Since lenses appear to be the same, might as well go for SX1.
